Summer Day Camp Extended Care and Flexible-Day Pricing
Price early care, late care and single days using the staff, rooms and admin they require. Set separate booking limits for each time block. Explain care hours and late-pickup terms clearly before families book.
Extended care is another service, not free time around the real camp. It needs lawful staffing, breaks, a room, activities, sign-in, sign-out, and late-pickup procedures.
Suppose an extra care block costs a fictional $450 for the week. If it sells for $45 per child and adds $5 per child in supplies and payment costs, it leaves $40 per booking. It needs 12 bookings to cover that $450, because $450 ÷ $40 = 11.25.
Check whether the capacity and demand make that possible. Do not combine age groups or reduce cover just to make the numbers work.
For single days, include extra administration and the value of a place that could have sold as a whole week. Decide how a Monday-only child joins a project that lasts five days. Keep at least one complete activity each day.
Make add-ons easy to understand. State whether fees are per day, per week, per child, or per family. Show the whole bill before payment.
A late fee is not permission to leave a child unsupervised. Have a safe care plan when a caregiver is delayed. Record the delay, call approved contacts, and follow the local escalation plan when nobody can be reached.
