Before camp opens
Use this as a starting list. Your team and venue may need more checks.
- Choose the kind of day you want to create
Pick an age range and the hours families need. Say whether early drop-off or late pickup is available.
- Find space for busy and quiet moments
Walk from the drop-off point to the play areas, toilets and lunch space. Check access for your group.
- Work out the cost of a camp week
Add venue hire, staff hours, setup time and any permits or insurance you need.
- Help your team know every child's day
Choose group leaders and check local staffing, screening and training requirements.
- Make the week clear for families
Show dates, daily hours, ages, price and location together. Explain any trips or extra-care options.
- Give each day a familiar rhythm
Start with an easy activity that children can join as they arrive.
