Build the coding week around a manageable project with working milestones each day. Allow time to practise, test, improve and share. Adapt the sample plan to the tool and learners' reading, motor, language and attention needs.
This sample week is for beginners using an approved age-appropriate tool. Adapt it to reading, motor, language, and attention needs.
Day
Core idea
Small project
Evidence of learning
Monday
Steps and events
Make a character respond to an action
Learner explains what starts the program
Tuesday
Repetition
Make a simple animation or repeated pattern
Learner shows which steps repeat
Wednesday
Conditions and values
Add a goal, score, or choice
Learner explains one “if” decision
Thursday
Design and testing
Build a small personal game or story
Learner tests and improves one feature
Friday
Finish and explain
Polish, export, and privately share
Learner explains one choice and one bug fixed
Use short demonstrations followed by practice. Add non-screen design tasks, movement, breaks, and care routines.
Prepare a smaller version of each milestone. A learner who needs more time can still make a complete simple project. Prepare extensions that do not require unreviewed services or new accounts.
Do not make public publishing a graduation requirement. A private demonstration or exported file can show learning.
Your task: Test the entire week from a fresh device and a beginner account arrangement, not only from the teacher's machine.
