Chapter 30 of 30 · 1 min read

Science and Coding Camp Launch Checklist and Full Rehearsal

Rehearse the camp using the real devices, accounts, activities and staff. Check arrivals, support queues, backups and project delivery as well as teaching. Resolve problems before opening the science or coding program to families.

Start with the audience, learning outcome, and manageable project list. Test demand and confirm that the site and staff can support the actual activities.

Complete the cost model, device plan, software review, privacy review, experiment approvals, care systems, and insurance. Do not leave technical setup until the weekend before camp.

Run the whole learning path as a beginner would. Use the actual account arrangement, device, network, files, and export process. Test the offline alternative too.

Train staff in both teaching and care. Rehearse a broken laptop, an experiment spill under the approved response, a private-data mistake, a distressed learner, and a late pickup.

Make a written opening decision. If essential equipment, approvals, staff, support, or cash is missing, reduce or delay the offer honestly.

After the first session, finish the data and project handover work, review the budget, and improve the tested course before expanding.

Your task: Ask a substitute teacher to run the setup and first lesson from your notes. Fix every point where they must guess.
