Science and Coding Camp Software Selection and Approval
Choose software for the learning task, then review age terms, accounts, accessibility, privacy and reliability. Test the complete session on camp devices. A stable tool that learners can use is more useful than an impressive but unsuitable platform.
Pick the tool that serves the learning goal, not the one with the most impressive logo. A simple stable tool may be better than a complex platform that needs many accounts.
For each service, review current age terms, account rules, commercial or educational licensing, privacy, advertising, messaging, content sharing, accessibility, offline use, export, and deletion. Save the version and review date.
Do not assume a school license covers a private camp. Do not assume a free personal account permits commercial group teaching. Ask the provider when the terms are unclear.
Avoid false ages, shared personal logins, and staff credit cards attached to child accounts. Never ask a child to reveal a private password to the group.
Prefer a setup that collects little personal information and can work without public profiles when it meets the goal. A private project can still be meaningful.
Test updates and extensions before camp. Freeze a known working teaching setup where feasible, while keeping required security maintenance managed by the technical lead. Do not install surprise tools mid-lesson without review.
Your task: Approve a short software list and a clear process for adding anything new.
