Have a qualified reviewer define your health arrangements. The needed staffing, credentials, equipment, and medical oversight depend on the program, participants, remoteness, and local requirements.
Write how medicines are received, checked, stored, accessed, administered, recorded, and returned. Staff must act within their training and legal authority. Do not let a general handbook become a medication instruction sheet.
Make emergency medication available according to the approved plan during meals, activities, trips, and nights. A system that works only in the health room may fail elsewhere.
Keep confidential individual action plans for relevant conditions. Give workers the information needed to act safely, not unrestricted access to every health record.
Plan for a worker becoming ill or a health lead leaving site. The camp should not lose essential coverage because one person drives to a clinic.
Document care factually and promptly. Record what happened, actions taken, who was contacted, and the handover. Do not ask a child to carry a private medical message between adults.
Your task: Test a medication handover across day staff, night staff, and an off-site activity.
