Guide
How to plan a camp day
Make time for games, meals, breaks, and moving between places.
We are still checking this guide. It is a draft. How we check our work
The main idea
A good schedule tells people where to go, what to bring, and who will help. Leave time between activities.
Part 1
Put fixed times in first
Start with times you cannot move, like meals, bus trips, and booked lessons. Fit the other parts of the day around them.
- Write down each fixed time
- Check which groups share a room or supplies
- Leave time to set up and tidy away
Part 2
Leave time to move
Walking to a new place, finding supplies, and explaining a game all take time. Put that time in the plan too.
Swipe across the table to see more.
| Part of the day | What to write down |
|---|---|
| Arrival | Where to meet and who will say hello |
| Activity | The group, leader, place, and supplies |
| Moving on | How to get there and who leads the group |
| Backup plan | What to do if the first plan cannot happen |
Part 3
Walk through the day
Read the plan as a camper. Then read it as a team member. Is there enough time to eat, rest, and get ready?
Check that no two groups need the same room or teacher at once. Ask the team what needs to change.
Part 4
Keep one clear copy
Choose where the latest plan will live and who can change it. Put a date on printed copies. Tell the team when the plan changes.
At the end of camp, note which parts took more time than you expected. Use those notes for the next day.
