Faith and Community Camp Local Rules and Required Approvals
Describe the operator, ages, hours, care, food, transport and activities to the relevant authority. Confirm requirements for the actual program instead of assuming faith or nonprofit status creates an exemption. Record approvals and who checked them.
Describe the actual camp to the relevant authorities: legal operator, ages, hours, site, meals, transport, care, activities, and overnight use.
A faith-based or nonprofit identity does not settle every licensing, employment, health, building, accessibility, privacy, or tax question. Some rules have specific exemptions and others do not. Get qualified advice on the exact situation.
Check the host building's permitted use and capacity. Ask about food service, fire safety, water, toilets, outdoor areas, and restricted spaces. Do not use a worship hall for sleeping simply because it is empty overnight.
Ask your broker to review the full program, including volunteers, contractors, clergy or community leaders, transport, abuse-related cover where relevant, and specialist activities. Get clear answers about exclusions and conditions.
Check any grant or venue requirements too. A funder may place conditions on access, eligible costs, religious content, reporting, or publicity. Do not accept money on terms you cannot honestly meet.
Your task: Keep written approvals and conditions in one register, with a named person responsible for each renewal.
