Arts and Creative Camp Project Planning Template

Write a project card with the goal, materials, steps, time, adaptations and cleanup. Test the process before teaching it, including drying or other finishing work. Record what must happen after campers leave so it is not forgotten.

A project card is the teacher's short working plan. It keeps a nice idea from becoming a messy surprise.

Name the learning goal, age or skill range, exact materials, preparation, safe setup, teaching steps, expected working time, drying or processing time, cleanup, and take-home plan.

Make one full sample using the actual supplies and time available. Do not use a sample made by an expert over three evenings to sell a child's one-hour activity.

Write easier and harder options. An easier version might use larger pieces or fewer steps. A harder version might add a design constraint, not a more dangerous tool.

Plan for mistakes. Keep extra paper, a repair option, or a way to turn the failed attempt into learning. Do not tell children their project is ruined because your supply plan had no spare material.

Record what the teacher should not do. For instance, they should not finish a child's work to make the display look better. Help the participant solve the problem while keeping ownership of the work.

Your task: Complete the project card and pilot it with someone at the intended starting level.
