Before camp opens
Use this as a starting list. Your team and venue may need more checks.
- Choose what people will make
Choose a medium such as drawing, clay, music or drama. Say what experience, if any, people need.
- Set up a place to make and practise
Check work surfaces, light, access, sinks and storage for your chosen activity.
- Count supplies and teaching time
List teaching, room hire, equipment rental and preparation time.
- Find leaders who help ideas grow
Match leaders to the medium and age group. Check the training and screening needed for your setting.
- Tell makers what to expect
Show the medium, ages, starting level and daily hours. Use an example without promising every project will look the same.
- Make room to try, change and share
Begin with a short demonstration and a low-pressure practice task.
A sample day
A starting point for your own timetable. Change the pace and times to fit your people, place and activities.
